Sail Away! Suffixes -er, -or Game
When using Scott Foresman Reading Street, my students had a story and spelling word that focused on suffixes -er and -or. I decided to make a little game for them to practice reading words with these suffixes.
This is a super simple game that requires little prep and just a few items.
Included in the download are both full color and black and white versions (in case you need to save some ink!).
Students will practice reading words that have either an -er suffix or an -or suffix. They will get to roll a die and move around the game board if the word is read correctly.
After playing the game, there are a couple of practice pages your students can work on. One has students cut and paste the correct suffix for the word shown. The second has your students practice writing sentences using words with -er and -or suffixes.
This game was just updated in April of 2022 from its original version. The original, while very popular, was in need of a refresh. The game board and cards have been completely redesigned, and the practice pages were just added as well. Shiny and new for you!
You can find this game in my store! Happy teaching!
This is great! Thanks for sharing!
